M-STEM in MALMÖ: Exploring the Metaverse Together

During one vibrant and inspiring week in October, Malmö became the heart of the M-STEM project as 24 students and 12 teachers from Sweden, France, Portugal, Spain, Romania, Turkey, and Austria came together to explore digital learning, test the project’s developing Metaverse, and collaborate across cultures and classrooms.

Hands-On Workshops

Project partners from Austria led a series of practical, engaging workshops where students and teachers were invited to explore and experiment with the M-STEM Metaverse environment in its current beta version. Participants navigated the virtual world, tested its tools and activities, and provided thoughtful feedback on usability, accessibility, and how the platform could evolve to support STEM learning even more effectively. 01 / 02 Project Number: 2023-1-FR01-KA220-SCH-000151516 Metaverse-Based STEM Education for a Sustainable and Resilient Future Student LTTA in Sweden These workshops highlighted one of the project’s core ideas: that meaningful innovation grows when users are invited into the creative process early. The insights from both students and teachers will directly inform the next stages of development.

School Visits Across MALMÖ

Several Malmö schools opened their doors and welcomed the international group with creativity, generosity, and an impressive range of activities Lindängeskolan, Rådmansvångens skola, Lorensborgsskolan, and Djupadalsskolan each hosted unique sessions that showcased Malmö’s commitment to digital, exploratory learning.

Collaboration , Courage and Community

hroughout the week, one theme stood out again and again: the power of learning together.
As week went along students crossed linguistic and cultural boundaries with ease, collaborating as naturally in English as in gestures and shared laughter. Teachers showed remarkable courage in opening their classrooms, sharing ongoing work, and embracing experimentation alongside their students.
M-STEM is not only a project about technology — it is a project about people. About daring to try new things, learning in public, and discovering how immersive tools can spark creativity and deepen understanding in STEM subjects. This really came to life in Malmö, what energy and what an experience! THank you all for coming and participating and making the week so magical!
